About

Michael Kirk is an APR-9 licensed legal intern with Sweetser Law Office. He began working with the firm in Summer 2025 before his last year of law school. Michael is dedicated to finding justice for clients, and he looks forward to continuing to work with the firm as an attorney after passing the bar exam in 2026. Michael has been described as a storyteller and is valued for his insight, skills gleaned from his first career in religious education.

Michael attends Gonzaga Law School here in Spokane and is on track for May 2026 graduation, receiving his J.D. with honors and a certificate in Civil & Human Rights. He won the Sweetser Closing Argument Competition in 2024 and helped found the Gonzaga chapter of the Native American Law Student Association later that same year.

Michael brings experience with Tribal Court and discrimination cases to the firm. He previously worked at the Sandy Williams Justice Center and in the Indian Law Clinic at Gonzaga. This Spring, he will be moving from pre-litigation correspondence to litigation preparation. Michael has a lifelong dedication to truth and justice, and he loves getting to help members of the Spokane community. Michael lives in Spokane with his wife and daughter, and he looks forward to making the community more just and free for everyone.
