Education

I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island in 1980. My Juris Doctorate followed in 1984 from Gonzaga University School of Law, Spokane, Washington.

Former Spokane County Prosecutor

From 1984-1999 I served the people of Spokane, wearing various hats at the Spokane County Prosecutor's Office. Those highlights included District Court Deputy Prosecutor, Juvenile Court Deputy Prosecutor, Supervisor of Property and Vehicles Crime Unit, Senior Attorney and Supervisor of the Major Crimes Unit, and then elected as the Prosecuting Attorney.

During my 14 years as a prosecutor, I have participated in 275 criminal trials, and argued 22 cases before the State Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. None of these trial convictions were reversed on appeal. I have been successful against some of the biggest and most well funded corporations and defendants. Over the last several years, I have started to focus on consumer protection violations, civil rights violations, professional negligence, and insurance bad faith, as well as all other areas of personal injury practice.

I am Gerry Spence trial college certified. Only 50 attorneys throughout the United States are admitted to the trial college each year.

I understand that every case is unique and the losses suffered by my clients are different in every case. I will take the time to listen to the facts and details of your case and perform and immediate investigation to collect all supporting evidence. I will seek to understand the full extent of your personal and financial losses and use my financial resources to tell your story and communicate your needs to a judge or jury.
